Mozambique and Rwanda Align Economic Strategies
Mozambique and Rwanda are strengthening economic cooperation, with a focus on the development of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and the inclusion of youth in the business sector. This partnership was discussed during a recent meeting in Maputo between Mozambique’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Basílio Muhate, and Rwanda’s High Commissioner, Donat Ndamage.
The two sides highlighted opportunities for collaboration in the industrial, agribusiness, and tourism sectors, emphasizing the creation of synergies that promote sustainable and inclusive growth. The meeting also allowed both countries to identify priority areas for future investments and share experiences to enhance economic development.
MSMEs were recognized as a strategic tool to combating youth unemployment and stimulate the local economy. Joint initiatives were discussed to train young entrepreneurs and improve their access to markets and financing.
The growing cooperation between Mozambique and Rwanda is part of a wider South-South collaboration, emphasizing proactive economic diplomacy focused on tangible outcomes. Both countries have pledged to maintain ongoing technical engagement to turn identified opportunities into projects that generate meaningful economic impact.
