Short background story

 Rwanda and Mozambique continue to enjoy excellent relations cemented by the recents high level visits in both countries. H.E President Paul Kagame attended the swearing in of H.E President Filipe Nyusi in January 2020, HE President Paul Kagame witnessed the signing of Peace Accord between the Government of Mozambique and Renamo in August 2019 and the visit to Rwanda by President philip Jacinto Nyusi during the ICASA Conference in December 2019.
 
On bilateral level, Rwanda and Mozambique set up a Joint Permanent Commission to formally discuss the implimentation of the agreements already signed and explore new areas of cooperation.

Rwanda and Mozambique also cooperate at multilateral level in addressing common challenges at regional and continental level.
